Hazardous, non-hazardous and cytotoxic sharps are an everyday presence in any clinical environment you care to name.
From needles and syringes, to stitch cutters and shards of bone, sharps can be highly dangerous objects and, consequently, are classed according to the level of contamination risk that they pose.
It is extremely important that such waste items are sealed, to avoid any puncture wounds or more serious injury during handling.
For this reason, it is essential that sharps waste is correctly separated into hazardous and non-hazardous containers prior to being safely removed from the workplace.
We work closely with clients across Kent, Sussex, Surrey and London to ensure that all waste storage and disposal is handled in line with the Hazardous Waste Regulations.
WGS Clinical Services will supply all the necessary sharps disposal bins - which are colour coded per type(s) of sharps, the type of premise they are removed from and the regulations that they must follow.
All sharp box designs we provide come with wall brackets to help you keep those surface tops clear.
We will then ensure that all sharps waste disposal is managed professionally on your behalf, on a collection schedule which is tailored to your specific requirements.
